
This is a virtual, instructor-led course delivered using Cisco WebEx that provides an overview of the System Release (SR) 5.0 product and associated features. This course explores the system enhancements and changes that are necessary for a digital network control system (DNCS) operator to understand in order to operate a DNCS running SR 5.0. Browser enhancements and user security changes to the DNCS user interface are covered along with an overview to the additional server updates.
Newly supported features are briefly introduced, including DNCS package additions, IPv6, video-on-demand (VoD) encryption, Program Specific Information Protocol/Emergency Alert System (PSIP/EAS) aggregation, and Broadcast File System (BFS) changes for Gigabit Ethernet support. Several new server tools are introduced. This course will provide hands-on activities to help the DNCS operator understand the enhancements of SR 5.0.
Navigate the new web-based user interface (WebUI)
Describe some of the changes to the file system, boot process, Informix database, and Digital Transport Adapter Control System (DTACS) configuration
Briefly describe each of the following newly supported features:
- DNCS package updates
- IPv6
- VoD encryption using an Radio Frequency Gateway 1(RFGW1)
- PSIP/EAS aggregation
- BFS changes to support Gigabit Ethernet
- Four new tools and ReportWriter updates
